How to License Your Dog

After downloading and printing this dog license application, complete the form. Then remit to the Town Clerk, either in person or by mail the following:

  • The completed application form
  • Appropriate fee (fees are listed below)
  • Spay/neuter certificate (if applicable)
  • Proof of rabies vaccination signed by a licensed veterinarian

After the application and appropriate certificates are filed and the license fee has been paid, the license will be valid for one year. Each dog is assigned a permanent official identification number and issued a metal ID tag that is to be attached to the dog’s collar.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER A LICENSE HAS BEEN VALIDATED

How to Renew Your License

Renewal notices will be sent out the month prior to the expiration of the license by the Seneca Falls Town Clerk’s office. Or you can renew online via the following link:

*In order to obtain a license for more than one year, the dog’s rabies vaccination cannot expire prior to the expiration date of the dog license.

**If the dog’s owner is over the age of 62, there is a senior discount. Proof of age is required.

The owner must provide to the Town clerk in writing any of the following changes to the license record:

  • Dog ownership
  • Dog owner’s address
  • Loss or theft of the dog (and if the dog is found, its return) and
  • Death of a dog
