PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
The resolution published herewith adopted on June 23, 2026 by the fire district board of fire commissioners, and approved by the voters of the Bridgeport Fire District on the 28th day of July 2026, may be hereafter contested only if such obligations were authorized for an object or purpose for which the Bridgeport Fire District is not authorized to expend money or if the provisions of law which should have been complied with as of the date of publication of this notice were not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity is commenced within twenty days after the date of publication of this notice, or such obligations were authorized in violation of the provisions of the constitution. The purpose of the resolution was to approve the purchase of a heavy duty rescue pumper apparatus with an estimated cost of $1,375,000, with the issuance of a bond for the maximum amount of up to $1,375,000, and to permit the bonding of the purchase by serial or statutory installment bond for up to twenty years and to utilize bond anticipation notes up to five years if desired, in addition to $500,000 from cash on hand and from a reserve fund.
RESOLUTION FOR PURCHASE OF A RESCUE PUMPER:
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE BRIDGEPORT FIRE DISTRICT, IN THE TOWN SENECA FALLS, SENECA COUNTY, NEW YORK (THE “DISTRICT”), AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A RESCUE PUMPER IN THE AMOUNT OF UP TO $1,375,000.00, AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT THEREFORE; AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCING BY ISSUANCE OF A SERIAL BOND OR STATUTORY INSTALLMENT BOND UP TO TWENTY YEARS FOR THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $1,375,000.00 PRINCIPAL, OR TO ENTER INTO AN INSTALLMENT PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR UP TO TWENTY YEARS, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE SALE OF A 2008 RESCUE PUMPER, AND TO UTILIZE RESERVE FUNDS FROM THE APPARATUS CAPITAL RESERVE UP TO $500,000.
