Public Works

The mission of the Department of Public Works (DPW) is to preserve and enhance the Town’s infrastructure, public spaces, and facilities through effective maintenance, repair, and management services. 

The DPW Construction Team is responsible for storm water drainage which includes maintaining storm drain systems, culvert pipes, ditches, and flooding issues throughout town. The DPW Building and Grounds Team mows grounds throughout Town (excluding cemeteries), does trash collection at Town properties along with general upkeep and house cleaning for Town buildings. DPW also coordinates and does dumpster deliveries and pickups through the Parks and Recreation Department and oversees contracts with skilled professionals for specialized building systems, including heating and cooling, electrical and plumbing work, fire and security systems, pest control, and floor mat services. 

During the winter months, DPW works alongside the Highway Department, to clear designated roads and walkways quickly for safe travel.
