Miller Street Drainage Improvements Project 
Contract #1 – General Construction  

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for a single contract are sought and requested by the Town of Seneca Falls, Seneca County, New York according to plans and specifications prepared by MRB Group, 220 Salina Meadows Parkway, Syracuse, New York, 13212.

This project consists of the following work within the single contract: 

Contract #1:  

Base Bid –  General Construction – clearing of trees and brush; general demolition work; deep excavation at a depth of 17+ feet; construction of approximately 166 linear feet of new 36-inch storm sewer and manholes; paving and concrete restoration; and other work, as shown on the project drawings.   

Alternate #1 – General Construction –  clearing of trees and brush; general demolition work; excavation at a depth of 8+ feet; construction of approximately 568 linear feet of new 36-inch storm sewer and several manholes; paving and concrete restoration; and other work, as shown on the project drawings.   

The Engineer’s estimate of construction cost for the project is $575,000 for the Base Bid, and $400,000 for Alternate #1.    

Sealed bids for the single contract will be received by the Town Clerk at the Town offices.  Address as follows:

Bids must be received on the attached Bid Form with the required 5% Bid Bond by 3 PM on Friday, November 8, 2024, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Electronic copies of the Contract Documents and List of Planholders may be obtained from the Project Engineer. 

Bidders shall not include sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials that are to be incorporated into this project.  The winning bidder will be provided with a sales tax exemption letter.   

All work under this contract shall be performed at prevailing wage rates and comply with all applicable ordinances, regulation, laws and with all rules of the State of New York Department of Labor. 

The Town reserves the right to waive any informality in, or reject any or all bids, or to make an award to other than the low bidder.
