BRIDGEPORT Fire District 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Bridgeport Fire District will take place on December 9, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Seneca Falls Fire House located at 43 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls, New York 13148, for the purpose of electing one Fire Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2031 and one Fire Commissioner for a one (1) year term starting January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026 All voters registered with the Seneca County Board of Elections on or Before November 19, 2024 shall be eligible to vote. 

All candidates for a District Office shall be residents of the Town of Seneca Falls (Bridgeport Fire District), not convicted of any degree of arson and file in writing their names with the Secretary of the Bridgeport Fire District at 43 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls, New York 13145 no later than twenty days before the election, November 18, 2024.

All bids must be submitted in writing, sealed, to the following address:

Bid Due Date: May 12, 2025, before 4:00pm. The bid packet may be obtained by contacting the District Secretary at (315) 568-2796 or by email at: bfd1secretary@yahoo.com. Submission of electronic bids is not permitted and will be declared void and rejected.

All bids will be publicly opened and reviewed on May 13th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Seneca Falls Firehouse 43 W Bayard Street Seneca Falls, NY 13148. No decisions need be made on that date. Decisions will be made on or prior to June 10th, 2025.

Bids must be firm for ninety (90) days.

If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of specifications or other issues, he may submit to the Bridgeport Fire District a written request for interpretation or correction thereof. Requests to be given consideration must be received at least three (3) days prior to the Bid Date. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation of the proposed document will be made by Addendum only, duly issued, and a copy will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of documents not later than 48 hours prior to Bid Date. Bridgeport Fire District will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed document.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPOSALS 

Sealed proposals will be received at Bridgeport Fire District, 43 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, New York 13148 by the Fire District Secretary for the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Bridgeport Fire District until the 14th day of January, 2025 at 6:45 p.m., prevailing time, for general contractor maintenance, repair and related work in compliance with the Scope of Work heretofore adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners and attached hereto (“the work”).  Proposals will be publicly opened and read at the Bridgeport Fire District, 43 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, New York 13148 on the 14th day of January, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. prevailing time.

that the Proposed 2025 Budget of the Bridgeport Fire District of the Town of Seneca Falls, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Bridgeport Fire District, for its consideration.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Fire Station located at 43 West Bayard St. Seneca Falls, in the Town of Seneca Falls, NY 13148, on the 15th day of October, 2024.

Pursuant to Town Law §105, the Board of Fire Commissioner’s must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the hearing.

The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same.

That a copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Seneca Falls at 130 Ovid St. where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours 8-4.

Dear Community Members,

The Bridgeport Fire District is in search of two (2) dedicated individuals to serve on their newly created Facilities committee. This committee will be made up of two (2) Fire Commissioners, two (2) SFVFD members, and two (2) Community members. This committee will be tasked with reviewing all the facilities owned by the Bridgeport Fire District and making recommendations to the Board of Fire Commissioners.

The objective of the committee will be to understand the needs of the Fire District and Fire Department as it relates to facility needs both current and long term. This Committee will serve at the pleasure of the Board of Fire Commissioners and will only have the authority to make recommendations to said board.
