The resolution published herewith, adopted on the 11th day of February, 2025 by the Bridgeport Fire District board of fire commissioners, and approved by the voters of the Bridgeport Fire District on February 18, 2025, may be hereafter contested only if such obligations were authorized for an object or purpose for which the Bridgeport Fire District is not authorized to expend money or if the provisions of law which should have been complied with as of the date of publication of this notice were not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity is commenced within twenty (20) days after the date of publication of this notice, or such obligations were authorized in violation of the provisions of the constitution.
The purpose of the resolution was to approve the purchase and financing via a bond issuance, of up to $1,200,000 for up to twenty (20) years to purchase a fire engine costing up to $1,200,000, utilizing up to $500,000 of capital reserve funds, and to surplus a 2004 Engine.
